CHICAGO, June 24, 2015Orunje, (pronounced Orange) the on-demand healthcare platform that allows patients to forgo emergency care clinics in favor of receiving primary care in the comfort of their homes, offices or hotel rooms, today announced its official company launch in Chicago. Using the Orunje website, patients can request a visit from a board-certified doctor or nurse practitioner and receive medical attention when and where they need it.

Orunje’s licensed and experienced healthcare providers arrive within two hours and can treat a broad range of ailments from the common cold to pneumonia. Orunje is available on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on weekends from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registering for the service is free, and the first visit costs $35. Subsequent visits cost a flat rate of $99 for a nurse practitioner or $169 for a physician. There are no additional charges for visits. Patients who file an insurance claim may be reimbursed by their insurance provider.

Founded by three doctors and a computer scientist with over 40 years of healthcare experience among them, the company offers access to doctors and nurse practitioners with the click of a button. With Orunje, patients avoid long waits, exposure to illnesses and other inconveniences of the traditional doctor’s office or emergency room.

“We created Orunje because we wanted to provide more options for patients and healthcare providers,” said Dr. Pardeep Athwal, co-founder of Orunje. “Nobody likes waiting several hours in a crowded emergency care clinic. Orunje brings the doctor right to your doorstep.”

In three simple steps, Orunje provides affordable, convenient, high quality healthcare.

  1. Register online and request a doctor to your location
  2. Within two hours the doctor arrives and performs a health assessment
  3. If needed, the doctor writes a prescription, orders lab tests or recommends additional care
